Sainsbury’s School Games

Pupils aged 11 – 16 years old, in Gosport, have the opportunity to access competitive school sport through the Sainsbury’s School Games, which is made up of 4 levels of competition:

Level 1 – Intra-School competition – for all students held within their schools, culminating in a Sainsbury’s School Games Day.

Level 2 – Inter-School competition – individuals or teams are selected to represent their schools against other local schools.

Level 3 – Sainsbury’s School Games festival – countywide festival.

Level 4 – National Sainsbury’s School Games – multi-sport event.

Secondary School competition is organised through Fareham & Gosport School Sport Association, chaired by a Head of PE and attended by all 9 Heads of PE and FE Colleges.

Through the Sainsbury’s School Games programme schools can apply to the Sainsbury’s School Games Kite Mark award, which recognises a schools provision of competitive sport for pupils in Years 7 – 11.
